Performance of PVC film

What are the differences between PVC film and ordinary adhesive film? Ordinary adhesive film is applied directly to the surface of the board with glue at room temperature, so it easily peels off after one or two years. PVC film, on the other hand, is pressed onto the surface of the board using a specialized vacuum laminating machine at a high temperature of 110 degrees Celsius, making it less prone to peeling.

Although PVC film offers excellent quality assurance, some might argue that PVC, being a chemical product, cannot compare to natural materials, inevitably producing toxicity and odor, and causing environmental damage. However, this is not the case. The raw materials used to produce PVC film undergo special refining processes, completely removing toxic substances. Therefore, PVC is completely non-toxic and odorless, causing no irritation to human skin or the respiratory system. For those allergic to wood and paint, furniture or kitchenware wrapped in PVC film is very suitable. By using PVC film as a decorative film, people can use large quantities of MDF, particleboard, plywood, and fiberboard, reducing the amount of wood used and thus reducing damage to forests and the environment. From this perspective, PVC film makes a significant contribution to ecological protection. The use of PVC once sparked considerable controversy in Western countries, with many attempting to replace it with various other materials. However, it has been proven that PVC's quality is no less than that of other alternatives, while being cheaper.

Experts have found that abandoning PVC in many industries would incur substantial additional costs. Specific data indicates that abandoning PVC would add billions of marks to the cost. For individual consumers, this translates to a huge extra expense. For example, if windows with PVC surfaces were replaced with ordinary wood, the cleaning and maintenance costs alone would increase dramatically. In a small town in England, where wooden windows had been used for the past two decades, a survey compared the cleaning costs of wooden windows to those of PVC windows. The results showed that cleaning ordinary wooden windows cost twice as much as cleaning PVC windows.
